Pyramid arrests in Auckland
PA Auckland Auckland vice squad detectives arrested two persons after swooping on a pyramid money game party in Mount Albert last evening. A woman, aged 40, and a man, aged 35, will appear in the District Court today. The man, a company director, will face charges of organising an illegal game of chance and permitting his premises to be used for the playing of an illegal game of chance. ■ The woman, an accountant, will face a charge of assisting in the organisation of an illegal game of chance. The raid on a small warehouse building by a small combined group of detectives and uniformed police was the first in Auckland since the pyramid money game craze began to flourish about three weeks ago. Detective Sergeant G. S. Cox said the police had heard of at least 11 pyramid games being run in Auckland last evening.
