Cresco’s tail redesigned
PA Hamilton Aerospace Industries’ redesigned Cresco agricultural aircraft is showing “excellent results” in flight tests so far, says the company’s sales manager, Mr J. Garnett. Tests were three-quar-ters cmplete and were expected to finish in midSeptember, he said. The aircraft’s tailplane wag redesigned after the first test machine crashed ■last year. The new plane has been tested at its maximum loaded height of 3200 kg and was working up to high-speed fly in, Mr Garnett said. The next Cresco was ex-
pected to be finished by the time the test plane ■was certified by New Zealand air authorities later this year. Once it was in full production, Aerospace expected to produce one Cresco a month.
Last year’s crash put the plane’s development back almost a year. The price of the. aircrafat is now $236,000 compared with $185,000 early last year. But Mr Gamett said the higher price was not an attempt to recover money lost on the first plane. It was caused by rising manufacturing, labour and coftipbrieht costs.
