N.Z. market rally slows
The recent rally on the New Zealand sharemarket slowed yesterday, in mixed, moderately active trading. N.Z. Forest Products eased 3c to 325 c and Fletcher fell 4c ex bonus to 330 c. However, Odlins, Carter Holt, U.E.8., and Progressive Enterprises continued their firm trends started earlier in’ the week. Deanes Industries eased on its cautious annual report, and W. Sutherland fell 5c to 135 c. in spite of announcing last week that it had trebled its profit and doubled its dividend rate. The N.Z.U.C. index rose 0.24 points to 425.81, for a net gam on the week of 7.23 points.
