Waterfront industry bill
PA . Wellington Legislation aimed at promoting a greater flexibility Fn-- the activities of the Waterfront Industry Commission was introduced in Parliament this week. The.: Waterfront Industry Amendment Bill provides primarily for the appointment Of acting members of lhe . commission in the ablence of sitting members. Introducing the bill, the Minister of Labour (Mr Bolder)- said the membership tlause brought the commission in line wifi the provilions of the Industrial Rela Sons Act. The Labour shadow Minister- of' Labour (Mr T. K. Burke, West Coast) said the bill was of a non-con-froversial nature and was he subject of agreement between all interested parties. The bill was; referred to Parliament’s Labour and Education' Select Committee br- consideration.
