Shopping mall access

Sir, —I recently visited the new shopping mall in Barbadoes Street, and was appalled at what I consider the inadequate and even' dangerous single road exit-entry. Have the City Council and

the Ministry of Transport viewed this? Also the actual exit-entry had a sharp dip. Where too are the pedestrian crossings on Warrington and Barbadoes Streets. Residents, customers, shopkeepers unite to improve this situation before an accident occurs. — Yours, etc.. EDNA HAMBER. May 29, 1980. [Mr P. G. Secular, Deputy General Manager and City Engineer, replies. “Ailthough internal congestion may occur at times within the mall carpark the single entry exit on to Barbadoes Street is adequate for the amount of traffic that will, be generated at the ‘ complex. Pedestrian crossings in either Barbadoes Street or Warrington Street have not been required in the past, but the effects on traffic due to the opening of this mall are being monitored with the view to introducing facilities if warranted.”]
