Fulham’s league switch?
NZPA London The English Third Division soccer club, Fulham, will make an application to the Rugby League in Britain for inclusion in the League’s second division during the 1981-1982 season it has been reported in London. “The Times” newspaper said yesterday that the application would go before the Rugby League’s annual meeting at Harrogate at the end of this month. The proposed Fulham club
had drawn up a list of play-
ers, many of them experienced, who might be willing to sign, the paper added. Fulham Football Club’s chief marketing executive, Malcolm Macdonald, had
said that the club was making a serious application to the League. The club had the financial backing and the decision had been made only after the most careful discussions, Mr Macdonald said.
