Voting procedure
Sir, — I am shocked to learn that a panel of New Zealand judges has decreed that it is not necessary to read the instructions on how to indicate one’s choice when voting in the Parliamentary elections. Why do we spend millions of dollars every year on education, the very foundation of which is heading and understanding? If we care enough about whom we wish to represent us in Parliament surely we can study the voting paper for a few seconds and mark it according to instructions. What is wrong with our education system? — Yours, etc. A. M. GALLAGHER. June 6, 1980.
