Move to North Is. for A.C.T. manager
The Lyttelton Harbour Board this week paid tribute to a well-known local shipping agent, Mr P. A. Spratley, the Christchurch manager of Blueport A.C.T., who is leaving to become his firm’s New Zealand, marketing manager in Wellington. >
The chairman of the board (Mr J. E." Mannering) presented Mr Spratley with j history of the Port of Lyttelton and wished him success ‘ in his new job. i Marketing was always Mr i Spratley*s main interest and when he was transferred to Christchurch from Auckland ’ in 1976 he was immediately 2 immersed in the working side of the business. His < success in both fields was.] commented upon by Mr Mannering who noted that, i during his 4) years at Lyt- 1 telton, he had served as chairman of the Port < Employers* Association. Mr Spratley came to New ( Zealand from the United j Kingdom in 1970, where he had been working with j A.C.T. He was marketing manager in Auckland before j coming to Christchurch. i He will leave for Wellington on June 3 to take up his! new position. He will be, succeeded in Christchurch by Mr R. McD.
