Industrial action plans
PA Auckland Planning will start this week; , for a .fortnight of industrial, activity by- trade unions in support of a cost-of-living wage increase.
With the Federation of Labour backing an Auckland Trades Council-inspired call for action “in defence of living standards,”'The Auckland council will meet on Thursday to ■ begin jpreparations for activity.
“It won’t be just a matter of pulling levers and stopping work,” said the president of the Auckland Trades Council (Mr G. H. Andersen). ' : “The matter has to be taken up with . employer groups. Workers’ wages are regulated but executive wages arid salaries are not,” he said.
