Mr Talboys leaves for Europe
PA Auckland The Deputy Prime Minister (Mr Taiboys) left Auckland yesterday for Europe. Mr Taiboys will represent New Zealand at the funeral of President Tito in Belgrade before travelling to other European capitals, including Rome and Bonn. During the trip, Mr Talboys is expected to express strong concern about proposals for new E.E.C. rules on] sheepmeat. The Prime Minister (Mr Muldoon) has said that the proposals, which came up only recently, could do considerable harm to New Zealand trade. The British Minister of Agriculture (Mr Walker) also opposes the proposals. Flags on Government buildings will be flown at half-mast tomorrow for President Tito’s funeral. The Government has asked that flags on other buildings be flown at halfmast too.
