Kiwi keeps options open
NZPA Sydney The Kiwi International Company, Ltd, has quashed speculation that it will make another bid to take-over F. H. Faulding and Co., Ltd, at least for the time being. Kiwi said that there were “no discussions currently in progress” which would lead to the company making a new offer for Faulding. Kiwi made an unsuccessful bid for Faulding last year, but it picked up 20 per cent of the shares by the time the offer expired.
r The announcement from 1 Kiwi came after the Federal 1 Government’s decision to re- > ject Glaxo Australia Pro- . prietary, Ltd’s take-over t offer for Faulding. Although the Kiwi an- > nouncement indicated that i there was no present in--1 tention to make a fresh bid, i a spokesman said matters such as this were constantly ; under review. “I won’t say ; it’s likely, but I won’t say , it’s unlikely,” the spokesman said.
