Bishop ordained
PA Palmerston North The Most Rev., P. J. Cullinane has been ordained tl : Roman Catholic Bishop of Palmerston North in St Patrick’s Church, just over 40 years after his parents were married in the same church. More than 200 of his family were among the 1500 people present in the church to see the bishop take office. The new diocese based on Palmerston North, will encompass 41 parishes in the Manawatu, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki and Wellington areas, formerly part of the Archdiocese < f Wellington.
