Two positions are available and the successful applicants will be based on the West Coast of the South Island. 1 Involvement in a drilling programme, evaluating coal resources in the Greymouth area. Work in other districts will also be undertaken. 2 Participation in a programme of evaluating alluvial gold deposits, mainly in the West Coast area. Some practical experience in exploration and diamond drilling would be desirable for the first position. A background in Sedimentology and coal exploration would also be an added advantage. For the second position familiarisation with Churn drilling techniques and general mapping ana sampling of alluvial deposits would help. . While experience would be an advantage, it is not essential and consideration will be given to . suitable recent graduates.
