Subsequent to news reports of this, the Promotion Council’s executive officer (Mr B. R. Dunstan) suggested that Promotion Council representatives discuss the matter with the council. Had anything happened to change councillors’ minds, that would warrant meeting the Promotion Council representatives’ asked Cr B. R. Hassall at the council meeting on Tuesday evening. Cr D. A. Franklin said he could i not see the worth of pursuing the matter further. The Promotion Council's “talking to us might sway some of us to change our minds. . . some might be more gullible rather than hard-headed financiers,” Cr Franklyn said.
