Gasoline body members named
PA Wellington The formation of the joint executive committee which will be responsible for control and direction ’ of the development of New Zealand’s synthetic. gasoline complex has been announced by the Minister of Energy (Mr Birch) an cP the managing director of Mobil Oil New Zealand, Ltd (Mr P. W. Marriott). Under the recently signed memorandum of understanding between the Crown and the Mobil Oil Corporation, the joint executive committee will ’ comprise four members nominated by the Government and four nominated by Mobil. The Government’s members will be Dr Colin Maiden of Auckland University, the Secretary to the Treasury (Mr N. V. Loueh), the Secretary of Trade ad Industry (Mr J. W. H. Clark), and the Sec-
retary of Energy (Mr W. M. Duncan). Representing Mobil will be Mr Marriott, the company’s accounting and financial director (Mr R. W. Willoughby), its planning supply and joint interests director (Mr R. W. L. Makeig), and Mr N. N. Farr, vice-president, Mobil South, Inc., New York. Dr Maiden has been named by the Government as the committee’s chairman. He has been closely associated with the synthetic gasoline proposal since its inception in his capacity as the chairman of the Liquid Fuels Trust. Board. ■•Mr Birch said Dr Maiden wotlld bring considerable personal expertise to the venture. The secretary to the committee will be Mr lan Winkel, who is administrative director of the Liquid Fuels Trust Board.
