Russian, moves in Afghanistan
Sir, —The idea occurs to me of starting another H.A.R.T organisation the initials in this case standing for Halt All Russian Tours. The present H.A.R.T. seems to be singularly silent about the rights of its dark-skinned brothers in Afghanistan during the present teur there by the Russians—a racial tour if ever there was one. That little trip by Russia seems to have evaded , the voicing of an even token resistance by T. Richards and his followers to the Olympic Games’ being held in Moscow. H.A.R.T. and some sports bodies seems to have forgotten their fine scruples about racial contacts where they themselves and Russia are involved. Where is the fine line of demarcation drawn by them between socalled repression and straight-out aggression?-— Yours, etc., J NFF April 16, 1980.
