Foreign investment: majority in favour
PA Auckland ! < A clear majority of New j Zealanders believe that thej advantages of foreign invest-' ] ment. outweigh any' loss of,j independence or.consequent flow of funds‘overseas. ( A poll by the advertising , agency, Ogilvy and Mather,, shows that those broadly in favour of overseas invest- : ment outweigh those con- <
cerned about it, by about two to one. . The poll was done before the recent, sale of a Coromandel farm ..to Saudi Arabian interests. Of the 1000 people over the age of 15 polled, 14 per cent were concerned about the removal of some independence, and 15 per cent about money being taken out of New Zealand. '
