A Singapore newspaper won three of four awards at the Pacific Area Newspaper Production Association’s-, annual.' conference in Christchurch this? week. Th e X association’s new award for newspaper design and the Tasman Pulp and Paper Award for technical excellence; of reproduction by daily newspapers? were won by the “Straits Times.” ’ it-, Sunday edition, the, “Sunday • Times,” won the
Bowater award for technical excellence of reproduction by nbn-daily papers. A Queensland newspaper, the “Gold Coast Bulletin,” won the Kodak award for enterprising use of colour in newspapers. .....
. Award judges were: P.A.N.P.A. design award, Mr Michael Utting Sydney; Tasman award, Mr Jim Carney, Wellington; Kodak ’ award, Mr G. Beazley,; Whangarei; and Bowater award, Mr Frank Hill, Adelaide.
