Five now on murder charge
p A . Auckland Five young people who faced charges of assaulting a’ girl, aged 13, will now appear in the District Court at Auckland today charged with her murder. The new charges come after the death of the girl in the critical,care unit, of Auckland Hospital at 10.25 a.m. yesterday. She was • Marion Cotton, .of Rainville Road, New- : market.
Miss ; Cotton was admitted to the hospital early on Thursday morning after she was found lying unconscious and badly battered in .a car-park near the old Waitemata City Council building in Greys Avenue. She .had been missing from her home since Sunday. The police arrested a •man ? aged 20, two youths, ?ne *agedri7 and the other 16 two young women, one aged 17, arid the-other .16, on Thursday night in connection with the, incident.
