Grant for stone house
Cashmere’s Old Stone House, the Cracroft Community Centre building, will receive a $5OO donation from the New Zealand Historic Places Trust. The building was formerly part of a group of farm buildings on the Cracroft Wilson estate. It was opened to the public in November last year as a community centre after $160,000 had been spent on its restoration.
The Historic Places Trust commended the community centre committee for the work it had done. The money will be used for general restoration expenses.
