When erecting your fence, care should be taken to avoid over-strain-ing, which may result in the wire going slack if it is stretched past the yield point. It is important that the recommended tensions shown above are observed
when straining along a fence line. For reasons of accuracy, where possible a tensioning meter (gauge) should be used to obtain the longest performance from the wire. Two of the most common types of tension meter are illustrated above.
