Warm temperatures and sunny skies over Lyttelton Harbour yesterday were perfect for putting Asher Hastings aged eight; his .mother, Mrs Shirley Hastings; and Mr Graeme Collie in the mood for the South Pacific cruise for

which they are preparing their 12-metre keeler.

The trio spent five months sailing from Auckland down the East Coast of the North Island with stops in the Marlborough Sounds and Nelson and will leave today on the return voyage. The trip was designed as

a shakei-down cruise for the boat and crew for the voyage to the South Pacific Islands they hope to make later this year. To keep in touch with landbased happenings, Asher Hastings is doing his school lessons by correspondence.
