Dash by boat to help woman

py\ Auckland Police and ambulancemen were late last evening on their way to help a farmer’s wife on Rakino Island in the Hauraki Gulf after she had reportedly driven a.tractor over the edge of a cliff. Early reports indicated that the woman was severely injured in the accident, which happened about 6.30 p.m. The police said the woman was stuck half-way down a cliff although easy access could be gained to her from above.

The police launch Deodar left Auckland with a doctor and an ambulance crew to rescue the woman and bring her back to Auckland. A report early this morning said that the woman had died. No more details were available.
