B.B.C. play by N.Z. author
NZPA London “No Moon, No Sun,’ 1 the award-winning play written by a New Zealander, Olwyne Macrae, will be broadcast next month on the 8.8. C. world service with a full New Zealand cast.
The play was selected as runner-up in the B.B.C’s first world-wide play writing competition held last year. The central character in the play is James, a successful businessman at the height of his career who suddenly becomes blind. The play deals with the problems
and decisions that must' be faced, not just by the blind but by all physically handicapped people. Denis Lili takes the role of James. He is probably best known to New Zealanders for his recent role as Edward VII in the television series, “Lillie.” The part of James’s wife, Julia, in “No Moon, No Sun” is played by Nicolette McKenzie. Others in the play are Lorae Parry, Jasmine Greenfield, and Paul Haley. New Zealand listeners will be able to hear the play late in the evening of May 25.
