I.M.F. gold auction
NZPA Washington The International Monetary Fund has sold 444,000 ounces of gold at $U5484.01 an ounce at its regular monthly auction. Winning bids were in the range of $460 to $503.51 an ounce. Bids were received
for a. total of 802,800 ounces.
The sale raised about $196 million for its trust fund, used to make low-cost loans to the world’s poorest countries, which now stands at $4440 million. The next sale, the last in the present series, is scheduled for May 7.
