COUNTY COUNCIL STAFF HOUSING LOAN, ' ' 1980 — $30,000 NOTICE OF SPECIAL ORDER PUBLIC NOTICE Is ’hereby given that at the meeting of the Akaroa County Council, held on February 29, 1980, the following resolution was passed and-will be submitted for confirmation at the meeting of the Council held ih the Council Chambers, Duvauchelle, on Friday, April 18, 1980.
“That in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Local Authorities Loan Act, 1956, Counties Act, 1956, Local Government Act 1977. and. their amendments and in pursuance of the sanctions of the Local Authorities Loans Board dated the sth of February, 1980. the Akaroa County Council passed a resolution by way of Special Order, the general purport of which was as follows:
A. (i) That. the . Akaroa County Council pro- ; ceed to raise a loan of $30,000 for the purpose of making an advance to a Staff member for housing purposes. (iij That such loan be known as a "Staff Housing Loan, 1980.” (iii) The maximum term for which the said loan or any .part thereof may be borrowed shall be 25 years. (iv) The rate of interest that may be.paid in respect of the said loan shall be the appropriate rate for the time being specified by the Local Authorities Loans Board and notice in the New Zealand Gazette. (v) That the security for the annual charges in respect of such loan shall be a special rate of decimal point nought one one six (0.0116 c in the $ on the rateable capital value of all the rural . rateable property in the County of Akaroa. NOTE: It is NOT the intention of the Council to levy the rate as the loan repayments will be met by repayments of interest and principal by the staff member borrowing the money. (This .loan is on similar basis’ to the Rural Housing Loans.)
B. That public notice be given that a Poll of rate: payers will be taken if not less than 15% of the ratepayers within the rural ridings of the County so demand by writing under their own hands, delivered or sent by post to the undersigned and received at the Council Office, Duvauchelle, not later than the date preceding the said meeting and that a copy of the Special Order is deposited at the Council office, Duvauchelle, and is open for public inspection during office hours, until 1 Wednesday, April 16, 1980.
