Westport’s record entries
The; Westport Jockey Club has received record entries for its centennial meeting on April 26 and 28., The club president (Mr P. Borlase) said several top horses were expected for the main race, the Westport Centennial Handicap, which carries a stake of $4lOO, the largest ever offered for a single race in Westport. Among the leading jockeys will be Bob Vance, who will Hde on the second day. The club has invited former trainers, jockeys and club members to attend the meeting and centennial celebrations, which will include a cocktail party, golf tournament and social.
