‘Gay Gordons’
John Halvorsen, who has been painting the mural on the walls of the main bar of the
Hillsborough Tavern, has always been, hankering to be a rockin’ roll star, according to promoter Jim Wilson. When offered a chance to support the Whizz Kids at the Hillsborough two weeks ago he jumped at it, and formed a threepiece band called The Gordons. The Gordons were formed at eight days notice, and had only five songs in their repertoire. The receiption the band got was great, and the crowd called for more, and got the five songs again, and if that wasn’t enough, again called for more, and again got the same five songs.
