Battle of Britain anniversary
PA Wellington The fortieth anniversary of the Battle of Britain will be commemorated at the Royal Air Force station, Biggin Hill, Kent, on September 21. The Royal New Zealand Air Force hopes New Zealand veterans will attend. The commemoration would involve many of the 400 who served at Biggin Hill between July and October, 1940, said a Royal New Zealand Air Force spokesman yesterday. A service of comi memoration, flypast of Hurricane and Spitfire aircraft from the R.AF.’s Battle of Britain flight,?, and an air show will bq’ highlights of the event.
