Silence on jackpot betting
“No comment in any way at all,” said the secretary manager of the three Christchurch trotting clubs (Mr Trevor Davis), when asked yesterday about the possibility of the reintroduction of jackpot betting to Addington Raceway before the end of the season. The Canterbury Jockey Club will restart jackpot betting at its meeting at Riccarton on Monday. There was nd problem regarding equipment, but it was a matter for club committees, said Mr Davis who declined to discuss the matter further.
