Fuel test begins

Thirteen vehicles using different types of fuel are taking part in a five-day alternative fuel test which began at Wellington yesterday. The Minister of Energy (Mr Birch) flagged off the vehicles on their 1700 km trial round the North Island using petrol, compressed natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, and diesel. The Motorsport Association is providing scrutineers for the test. Drivers include he former world champion, Denny Hulme, and a New Zealand rally champion, Paul Adams.
