Anti-Gandhi report withdrawn by Govt
NZPA-Reuter New Delhi ‘ I The Government ofthe In-, dian Prime Minister (Mrs In-
dira Gandhi) has withdrawn from circulation the published report of the official Shah commission of inquiry which indicted her and others for a number of alleged offences committed during her 1975 emergency rule. i An official circular to booksellers and news agents throughout the country calls
on them to return immedilately all unsold copies of • the reports. It said the Home Ministry
had decided to stop further distribution and sale of the three volumes of the report. The former Janata Government of the Morarji Desai set up special courts to deal with allegations made by the commission, but these have now ceased to operate and a number of cases against Mrs Ghandiu have not been pursued.
