City the underdogs

Jaks United City goes into the senior men’s softball Champion of Champions final as the underdogs in its match against Jaks-United at Papanui Domain this afternoon.'

However, City has beaten Jaks-United once' already this season, . and its coach, Mr Arnie Hall, said last evening that the team was “fired up” for the game. - Jaks-United will be a hard team to beat, with plenty of match experience from the recent Pan Am national interclub softball tournament at Lower Hutt under its belt. The Jaks-United player coach, Bryan Mountford, said that the only member absent from his side would be the left outfielder, Mark McFar-

lane, who had to attend a wedding. However, Mark’s- brother, Paul, relished the outfield during the inter-club tournament and Mia Toa was playing brilliantly at short-stop, he said. Both coaches were looking forward to a good game. While City was the upset finalist in the A section, after beating Papanui 10-5 last Saturday, Albion, the team at the bottom of the competition, will meet a competitive Lyttelton in the B section, in an earlier game also at the Papanui Domain. Lyttleton always tries hard, while Albion will be trying to wipe out memories of being at the bottom of the points table. ' \
