Relative values
Sir, — “Social and caring values have been raised to equal importance alongside economics and technology.” I quote Mrs Margaret Cleland, president of the Christchurch branch of N.C.W. (“The Press,” March 12). I wish I could also agree with her. y/e have a long, hard row to hoe beford-that- ideal. c..n become a reality. In a small"country/ where big .Is presumed to be beautiful we read constantly of largescale’- .enterprises, nationalisation of industry, massive developments for power projects. The needs of tne ordinary people who are not the activators behind all the wheeling and dealing are only top often overlooked. Certainly, I believe with Mrs Cleland that women could, if all women so wished and worked, make that .statement come true, r—■ Yours/’.etclj. JILU WILCOX.March' 12; J9BO.
