Rehearing declined

PA Hamilton The Maori land court at Hamilton has rejected a bid by the Raglan Golf Club to postpone the return of the disputed golf course land to Maori ownership. The club had applied to the court for a rehearing of its order which will vest the harbourside Te Kopua blocks with the Tainui Awhiro subtribe on April 1. Declining the application, Judge K. B. Cull said he was aware of an application for a review of his vesting order decision before the Supreme Court at Hamilton. “HAd my decision in this matter been to grant a rehearing, I doubt very much whether it would have been competent for me to do so with the matter now sub judice in the Supreme Court,” he said.
