Comeback bid by Kent

PA Wellington A former crack cyclist, Harry Kent, will attempt a comeback at the national hardtrack championships at Christchurch this evening. The 31-year-old Wellingtonian has not ridden seriously since 1973, and when he start's in the one kilometre time trial it will be his first appearance at,, the nationals in more than six years. Kent won a gold medal in the Ikm event at the 1970 Commonwealth Games at Edinburgh, and was second in a world Ikm championship. Great interest will centre on his performance against today’s top riders. Kent is not expected to gain a place, but Wellington officials have predicted that he will finish in . the first five.
