Stolen orders cashed
PA Auckland A group has taken $44,688 from the Social Welfare Department during a three-day spending spree in Auckland when they cashed stolen social welfare orders. Detectives believe there are at least 15 people in the group who cashed some of the 1900 blank order forms that were stolen from the department’s Taupo offices last December. They used false drivers’ licences to verify false identities, Detective Inspector M, Charles said yesterday.
