Detectives arrest two
Detectives late last evening arrested a man and a woman and charged them with kidnapping a girl for gain. The couple is expected to appear in the Magistrate’s Court at Auckland this morning. Detective Chief Superintendent B. Wilkinson, the regional controller of the Auckland C. 1.8., said the arrests had come after police inquiries at a Mount Eden address earlier in the evening. The police had seized a car they believed had been used to return the kidnap victim to her father.
