How to get there
Special transport! arrangements have been made for people wishing to travel from Christchurch to the Port of Lyttelton for Sunday’s Open Day. New Zealand Railways is running a train service to the port (special stops at Woolsfon and Heathcote) and return, and the Christchurch Transport Board is operating a total of four buses to the port and five returning to Cathedral Square. Buses leave Cathedral Square Tor Lyttelton at 10.50 a.m., 12.30 p.m.,
1.45 p.m. and 2.45 p.m. and leave from the weighbridge for Cathedral Square at 11.55 a.m., 1.10 p.m., 2.10 p.m., 3.10 p.m., 4.10 p.m. and 5.10 p.m. Train transport (not normally available) leaves Christchurch Station with special stops at Woolston and Heathcote at 10.00 a.m.» 11.30 a.m., 1.00 p.m., 2.30 p.m. and 4.00 p.m. It departs from Lyttelton Station to return to Christchurch at 10.40 a.m., 12.10 p.m., 1.40 p.m., 3.10 p.m. and 4.40 p.m.
