Fiji-Japan air link

NZPA Suva Fiji will ratify an air services agreement with Japan enabling flights between the two countries. The Prime Minister (Ratu Sir Kamisese Mara) yesterday announced Cabinet approval of the agreement, after talks in Tokyo between Fijian and Japanese representatives earlier this month.

The agreement allows Japan’s carrier, Japan Air Lines, to fly to Nandi Airport in Fiji and on to Auckland. However, New Zealand passengers must be ticketed from Japan, not picked up at Nandi.
