North adamant
The first meeting between North and South Korean Government delegations on the Communist side of the armistice zone for five years has ended without agreement on the venue for a proposed Prime Ministers’ meeting. The southern negotiators have become perplexed at the.adamant refusal of the northern side to consider Geneva and their insistence on alternate venues in Pyongyang and Seoul on the grounds that national issues should be discussed within the divided countrv. Another meeting will be held in two weeks. —Panmunjom.
