As sung in . the shower by Keith Holyoake, or Sir > Keith, as he then wasn’t. A stirring patriotic song with an excellent tune. Better than GDNZ, anyhow. Suggestions that it is “satirical” are nonsense. The Cabinet has checked. Nowhere in the words is there any mention of a satyr. “Wir Sind Fahren Gegen England” — a Continental melody not as old as the Weimar Republic and not as young ' as the E.E.C. Another stirring patriotic isong with an excellent tune. Adaptable words: Wir Sind Fahren Gegen Hartand Care. . . Gegen Solo-mums,, . . Gegen d’Unemployed, and so on. Raff, Joseph Joachim (1822-82). A well-known Middle European romantic classicist who wrote 11 symphonies, all of which are entirely composed of melodic fragments pinched from other well-known Middle European romantic classicists. Will keep the middle classes humming all the way to work. I What more do we need?
