PA Wellington The Employers’ Federation has approached both the Government and the Federation of Labour with a range of options aimed at providing a better framework for free wage bargaining. The Federation’s president (Mr J. W. Rowe) said the proposals covered such issues as wage indexation, taxation cuts, and a. review of the Industrial Relations Act. Mr Rowe said there was an obvious need for joint consultation on the wagefixing system. However, this did not mean tripartite negotiations — something the F.O.L. has said it will not take part in — on wage levels for the next wage round. “It is important for the Government, the Feder-, ation of Labour, _ ana employers to meet jointly to discuss such issues as wage indexation and taxation, because of the questions that are immediately raised,” Mr Rowe said.
