■'■a ? Scotch Tar, which will further his preparation for the Inter? Dominions against the pacers in the Flying Mile at Timaru on Saturday, was an attractive winner of the feature trial at Addington yesterday.

He im-proved-three wide to sit hphind. the leading division on the- turn and finished strongly-along the fence for a neck win over Crossfire and Sunseeker. Westburn Vue was a sound fifth. Scotch Tar paced the 2600 m in 3min 25.755, the final 400 m in 30.95. Danum Girl, hunted to an early lead, held on narrowly to beat Lord Brigade in the last trial;
