Track and field team named
New Zealand’s foremost track and field all-rounder, Mike Ritchie, has been named captain of the Canterbury senior men’s team to contest the New Zealand championships at Auckland on February 29 and March 1. Ritchie, who holds botii the New Zealand decathlon and pole vault titles, has been asked to spread his effort over three events — the pole vault, high jump and long jump. _ However, his main interest will be in the pole vault, which he has won for the las'ti four years.
