NZPA-Reuter Teheran Iran issued an urgent appeal for international aid yesterday to cope with widespread flooding in its southern oil-producing province of Khuzestan. officially declared a disaster area. A Revolutionary. Council spokesman. Hassan Habibi, said after the latest meeting of the ruling body: “The Revolutionary Council and the President have asked the World to help Iran in this connection and take the problem seriously and send aid as soon as possible.” ' President Abolhassan Bani-Sadr took personal command of rescue work from an air base outside Teheran as the death toll in Iran’s worst flooding for years, caused by heavy rains, was reported to have exceeded 200. - The Oil Minister (Mr Ali Akbar Moinfar) supervising relief work in the’ southwestern oil capital of Ahwaz, told the official Pars news agency the council had allocated four billion rials ($45 million) as an immediate contribution to reconstruction efforts. The only damage reported so far to" Khuzestan’s vital oil and gas production was a cracked gas pipe two days ago. The Iranian Oil Minister said oil production had not been affected* _
