I Financial Accountant THE COMPANY: The Nauru Phosphate Corporation which was formed by the Republic I of Nauru to develop the phosphate deposits on the island has a vacancy for a qualified Accountant. THE POSITION: This Financial Accountant is responsible to the Chief Accountant for the preparation of the monthly and annual accounts of this corporation and for the efficient functioning of this financial accounting office. The person must also liaise with the Cost Accountant and supervise a staff of nine involved in general accounting duties. THE PERSON: A qualified Accountant with a minimum age of 25 years. Commencing salary $A10,032 per annum tax free on Nauru, plus married island allowance of sA9ooor SASOO for single person. It would be an advantage if the applicant had experience in shipping documentation and international transfer of funds. CONDITIONS: Appointment will be by an initial contract of 22 months and thereafter on a permanent basis. Free passage to the island and return on leave. Approx. 8 weeks leave plus travelling time on full pay and allowances after 22 months term of service at the island. Amenities on the island include a staff recreation club, tennis and golf clubs. 'GENERAL: Nauru is a small island situated in the Central Pacific just south of the equator, population is approx. 7,500 people. A regular jet service from Australia operates 2 days per week and weekly from New Zealand. Excellent facilities are available tor recreation and social activities. The climate at Nauru is pleasant and I» ■ healthy. The temperature ranges from 21 to 32 degrees celsius.
