Traffic stopper A CAMPAIGN has been going in the United States to encourage more people to stop for animals crossing the road. Even though they, would not have a legal leg to stand on if , they were involved in an accident, . there is an encouraging . number erf cars in the United States with bumper stickers proclaiming “I brake, for animals.” Some -have -even picked out their favourite pet, and have stickers saying they brake for either dogs, cats, lizards, bears or deer. But there is one car in Christchurch, which would appear to be owned by someone associated with the United ’ States Antarctic Nayal Support. Force, with j a bumper.
sticker that reads: “I brake for penguins.” One would imagine the driver would not be called upon to stop very often for his protected species.
