Traffic signs remain

Different warning signs might not be erected at the intersection of Pound, and Buchanans Road.

The Paparua County Council has been examining ways of improving the intersection’s accident record, but it did not adopt the recommendations of the Ministry of Transport as “The Press” reported yesterday. The council only received the recommendations, and did not make them policy. It will make a decision on the

recommendations next month; Yesterday’s report said the present stop sign in Pound Road would be replaced by stop signs in Buchanans Road, traffic islands, advance warning signs and keep left signs. The. council was concerned that people reading the report might pay less attention at the Pound Road approach, expecting changes to have been made, said a county spokesman. The error is regretted.
