Man’s body under boat

Blenheim reporter

The body of a man was found caught on the propeller of a fishing boat in the Havelock marina on Thursday. He was Murray Thomas Miller, believed to be aged in his mid-50s, a resident of North-west Bay, Pelorous Sound, for the last 12 months. The fishing boat had entered the marina on Wednesday, but it had been unable to leave when something became entangled in the propeller. A diver went down on Thursday afternoon to free the propeller and found the body. The Blenheim police are still investigating the incident, and a post-mortem examination was made yesterday. A spokesman said an inquest would be held later.
